Disney World Part 5

Here we are, finally at the last post about our Disney World vacation. We went to Animal Kingdom on the last day. It’s not my favorite park, but it’s still fun. We hadn’t seen any of the new Pandora stuff, so we headed there first. The theming was really good.

We rode both rides in Pandora and then decided to get lunch at Flame Tree BBQ. After that, we went on the safari. That’s my favorite thing at Animal Kingdom. We saw quite a few animals. I hoped we would see the baby giraffe that had been born a few weeks before our trip, but we didn’t. It might be away from guests, I’m not sure.

After the safari, I stopped by a stand for a Dole Whip float. It was pretty yummy, but melted a lot as we went to another stand for David to get a Coke float. Disney doesn’t allow people to take masks off while moving, so I couldn’t sip it on the way. Next we rode Expedition Everest. I had ridden it before, but I forgot a lot about the ride, so it was still surprising. Next I got some freshly popped popcorn. I’d smelled it at carts throughout each park, so on the last day, I had to get some.

In Animal Kingdom, the characters floated down the river. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Pocahontas, and her raccoon (I can’t remember his name).

Once we were done with the park, we headed to the Grand Floridian for supper. We got some Parmesan truffle fries from The Enchanted Rose and sandwiches from Gasparilla Grill. I was pretty stuffed after that plus all my snacks throughout the afternoon!

We headed home the next day and picked up the pups straight from the airport. Apparently Kat is mellowing out in her golden years, because she made friends with the pet sitter’s dog. Because Kat was being so nice, the sitter let her and Gus stay in the house instead of in the kennel building. Talk about a 5-star experience!

We had a great trip and can’t wait to go back. I made the mistake of following Disney Parks on Instagram and now I see all the new stuff and (most important) holiday snacks and just want to go back!
